About Gaelium (GAEL)
Gaelium (GAEL) is an open source proof-of-work blockchain based on the Ravencoin codebase (Bitcoin Core lineage), using the KawPoW algorithm for ASIC-resistant GPU mining. Mainnet launched on June 15, 2026.
The project features a capped emission of approximately 1 billion GAEL distributed over roughly 12.5 years through a 7-tier degressive reward schedule, starting at 1,000 GAEL per block and stepping down to a perpetual 5 GAEL tail emission that continues to secure the network indefinitely with negligible long-term issuance (~0.13% annual). Block time is 2 minutes with Dark Gravity Wave (DGW) difficulty adjustment.
Gaelium is developed and stewarded by a European team operating under EU jurisdiction, following the standard of open source proof-of-work projects. There is no ICO, no pre-sale, and no promotional campaigns. A 1% premine (10 million GAEL) is publicly documented on the transparency page and reserved for protocol development and infrastructure maintenance. The remaining 99% is distributed through proof-of-work mining, accessible to anyone with GPU hardware.
All code is open source under MIT license (github.com/gaeliumcore). The block explorer, transparency page, and network statistics are publicly verifiable in real time. The project is registered on SLIP-0044 with coin type 1313 and provides desktop wallets for Windows, Linux, and macOS, with a mobile wallet currently in development.
Gaelium is designed as a decentralized peer-to-peer digital asset, following the same architectural principles as Bitcoin, Monero, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. Adoption emerges organically through network quality, community participation, and independent contribution, without paid marketing or coordinated promotion.
